Is SiderMem Local-First?

Yes. Every memory you save is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB first — free and unlimited on every plan, with or without an account. Cloud sync is opt-in and per-memory: nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync it.

What's stored locally

Every memory — web selections, notes, files, AI chats — is saved to your browser's local storage the moment you capture it. This works with no account and no internet connection required, and local storage has no size limit on any plan, free or paid.

What's synced only after you choose to

Cloud sync is opt-in and per-memory, not automatic. Syncing a memory backs it up to SiderMem's servers and makes it available on your other signed-in devices, subject to your plan's cloud quota (100 on Free, 1000 on Pro, unlimited on Ultra). Deleting a synced memory or downgrading your plan never touches your local copy.

What's never collected

SiderMem does not read your browsing history in the background, does not run analytics, and does not do ad tracking. Page content is only read on the platforms the extension supports, and only at the moment you click the capture button.
